Dulyov Vyacheslav (1935 - today)

Vyacheslav Dulyov was born on April 15th, 1935 in the village of Porosozero in the Suoyarvi area of Karelia, Russia. 

Since he was a young boy he was interested in music and he played the bayan by ear, being only 13 years old. At the age of 15, in 1950, he started his musical education at the Petrozavodsk Music College, under his teacher R. K. Niemi. In 1954 he completed the music college with highest awards. In 1962 he graduated from the Byelorussian Conservatory in Minsk, under E. M. Lembovich.

In 1962 Dulyov performed the first given concert by a Karelian bayan player at the Petrozavodsk Music College.

For many years Vyacheslav Dulyov performed as a soloist, as well as in duet with Evgeny Ishanin. He played in the bayan trio "Karelia" and as an accompanist in a folk
chorus and the folk ensemble "Zoryane". Dulyov also created the instrumental trio with E. Belorukova on the balalaika and S. Frolov ont the contrabas. Many times he performed in Finland, Sweden and Germany.

From 1965 till 1975 Dulyov was the chief of the folk instrument department of the music college. From 1975 till 1982 he was the college director.

Dulyov was the composer of numerous songs and dances, pieces for bayan and original music for 30 performances at the Petrozavodsk Puppet Theatre. He wrote arrangements for duet, trio, quartet and orchestra of bayan players.

In 1984 V. Dulyov was presented the State Award "The veteran of work". He was also awarded certificates of Honour from the Ministry of Culture of the USSR and Karelian Committee of TV and Broadcasting. He was recognised in the Book of Honour from the ministry of Culture of Karelia in 1985. In 1988 Dulyov was recognised as the Honoured Artist of Karelia.
